Established in
2006 the Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies
(DSRGS) aims at supporting research that advances knowledge and
which increases the capacity of the GJU to provide programs of
service to the local community. Furthermore, DSRGS offers graduate
programs of the highest possible quality level to those who aspire
to become intellectual leaders in the professions and in the various
disciplines of teaching and research.
To achieve the
above objectives, the DSRGS will work in the next five years (2007 –
2012) on achieving the following objectives
-
Develop GJU
scientific research and graduate studies regulations,
instructions and policies and revise as necessary to assure
quality of programs.

Establish
the University Scientific Research and Graduate Studies Council
-
Establish
central research laboratories with state of the art equipment
that will serve different GJU research activities.
-
Increase
the funds allocated for research. Incremental annual increase in
the budget of the scientific research by 100% of the current
budget.

Establish a
strong and sustainable relationship with international funding
agencies.

Announcing
an Annual Distinguished Research Award at GJU
-
Encourage
and support collaborative research especially with German
Universities and research institutions
-
Establish a
Proposals Development Unit within the structure of DSRGS to
create new funding opportunities.

Play an
active role in the commercialization of research and the
incubation of related companies.
-
Support
increased opportunities for graduate students to secure teaching
and research assistantships.
-
Maintain
and review comprehensive data about graduate programs to assist
central administrators, deans, and department chairs in making
wise decisions about graduate programs
-
Survey and
advise graduate students regularly and monitor their progress to
provide data about the quality of the graduate programs and
DSRGS services
Currently the
deanship in coordination with the respective schools offers the
following graduate programs:
1) Master in Business Administration (MBA) with the following
tracks:

Management

International Accounting
-
Quality Management
2) Master
of Arts (MA) in Intellectual Property
3) Master in German as a
Foreign Language
The business and
Intellectual property programs are delivered at Talal Abu Ghazaleh
School of Business (TAGSB), while the Master program in German is
currently administered by the Vice President Office.
