The
Department of Water Engineering& Management is a dynamic and
integral part of the Faculty of Applied Natural Sciences.
Tomorrow, will be one of the largest and most successful of its
type in Jordan.
The
program provides students with professional qualifications,
basic skills and hands on experience in areas of great
importance to the community in the sense of insuring continued
water supply, protected water systems, conserved water resources
and well managed wastewaters. The program is attractive to
students who have in mind a career involving water issues and
related infrastructure development. The School of Natural
Applied Sciences administers the program.
Graduates from the Department of Water Engineering& Management
are to be highly employable and command some of the best
starting salaries. Leading organizations from Jordan and the
Gulf region are to regularly recruit from GJU and many offer
more graduate employment opportunities to our students and

Objectives&
Outcomes |
|
The
broad objective of the program's undergraduate programs is to
develop well-educated graduates with the basic skills,
attributes and knowledge required to practice as professional
Water Managers and Water Engineers. The desired skills are those
that enable graduates to be problem solvers; critical thinkers;
life long learners; good communicators; team players;
independent investigators; effective managers; self-motivated;
and economically, environmentally and socially aware.
It
is intended that these attributes are developed in students at
the same time that they gain knowledge in a broad range of
disciplines. In addition, an objective of the programs is to
provide the skills and knowledge in a social context for direct
impact on the community with sever water shortage. Integrating
courses in each year of each program (the Engineering Practice
courses) have been introduced to achieve this objective.
