German Jordanian University (GJU) held its 7th Annual Career Fair on Wednesday April 19th 2017

The fair was organized by the Office for Industrial Links (OIL) of GJU, in cooperation with the Career Guidance Office of King Abdullah II Fund at the Deanship of Student Affairs, the public relations, supplies and service department, and inaugurated under the patronage of GJU President Professor Natheer Abu Obeid, in the presence of the GJU Vice Presidents, Director of OIL and number of GJU staff and academic members.   

This Fair enabled GJU students and graduates to connect with more than 70 companies and organizations from a variety of sectors, from large companies to small businesses and startups both Jordanian based and international companies. They came from a range of industries, including manufacturing and logistics, as well as consulting companies among many others.

Professor Abu Obeid stressed the importance of this fair for our GJU students and graduates and that it helps them to connect with companies , training and scholarship providers, as well as startups and entrepreneurship support organizations, where they can be familiarize with requirements and market labor needs, might be inspired to start their own business or continue with their Master studies in Jordan or abroad.

Britta Kähler Director of Office for Industrial Links, pointed out that the GJU Career Fair 2017 offers a real platform for GJU students, university and industry to communicate and collaborate and that students will be exposed to the competitive work environment and get a close knowledge of the required employment skills.

To be guided through the fair, the participants received the GJU Career Fair handbook which gave an overview about all exhibitors and their booth locations and will also serve as reference for future job and internships searches.

The fair was supported by many GJU students who volunteered during the event as “Company Assistants”, helping the companies to set up their booths, answer their questions, and direct them on campus.

Altogether GJU Career Fair is aligned with GJU’s vision of Education for Employment and Entrepreneurship and an excellent means to reach the goal of networking and exchange with the industry.
