Project “Analysis and Documentation of Building Techniques and Architectural Typology in the Transition from Late Antiquity to Umayyad Period” (“Análisis y documentación de Sistemas constructivos y tipología arquitectónica en la transición de la Tardo-Antigüedad al periodo Omeya”). This is actually a Project on several monuments and sites) continuously developed from 2004 and funded by the Spanish Ministry of Culture within the Programa Competitivo de Ayudas a proyectos arqueológicos en el exterior (IPCE, D.G. BB.AA. Min. Cultura). It has encompasses the excavation, documentation and analysis of several buildings and architectural complexes (see 5.4. in pg.6-7).

-“Survey and Excavation of the World Heritage Site of Qusayr ‘Amra”. 2011. Contract with World Monuments Fund (WMF) & Istituto Superiore per la Conservazione ed il Restauro (ISCR), in collaboration with the Department of Antiquities of Jordan, to carry out the following components (as part of the responsibilities of the DoA towards  UNESCO, as a result of the declaration of ‘Amra as World Heritage Site):

• Scientific Direction of the Survey  of the site of Qusayr ‘Amra, to locate structures and features not yet identified, to fix the boundaries of the WH Site and of the perimetral protection area (“Buffer Zone”).

• Scientific Direction of the Excavation of the structures identified in the survey (service building and auxiliary structures, including quarry fronts, slaking pits, etc.). Evaluation and documentation of the state of conservation of the structures identified.

• Participation as member of the committe in charge of the redaction of the Management Plan of the site. The final document was published as: ARCE et al.(2014) Qusayr ‘Amra Site Management Plan UNESCO-WMF

• Inspection, documentation and monitoring of the state of conservation of the Hydraulic System (dams, dykes, saqiyyas and wáter deposits), of the quarries and the auxiliary  structures (service and palatine ones) of the complex.

• Inspection, documentation and monitoring of the state of conservation of the second saqiyya and the related area. This component included a separate report on the condition of the structure and a proposal of intervention / conservation of the structure.

-Project “Proposal for Upgrading Umayyad Archaeological Sites in Jordan and Improving the Visitors Services”. Research and proposal for UNESCO Regional office in Amman (within UNESCO Programme IV /MLA). Contract with UNESCO to conduct the related research and put forward the proposal within the final report. 2011.

-Project EUROMED III “Al-Qantara Crossing between East and West”. Project Member and Catalog Contributor. Funded by the European Comission. Coordinated by the Jordanian Department of Antiquities. Researcher participant by invitation of the DoA. 2009

-Project “Amman Citadel Conservation and Site Management Plan”. Project established by the Great Amman Municipality (GAM), the Ministry of the Tourism and Antiquities (MoTA), Department of Antiquities (DoA) and  Siyaha project (funded by USAID). Member of the Scientific & Technical Committees (nominated by the General Director of the Department of Antiquities of Jordan) for the redaction of the Site Management Plan of the Amman Citadel. 7.1. Museology & Museography Projects

-“Emperor Anastasius Edict Replica, Musealization at the Jordan Museum and the Site Museum at Qasr al-Hallabat”. In collaboration with the Department of Antiquities of Jordan & Jordan Museum. Funded by Gerda Henkel Stiftung. 2014-2018

-“Hallabat Site Museum and Visitors’ Centre. Museologic and Museographic Project”. Scientific Director (IP) & Curator. 2008 -2014.

This Project includes these other components:

• Lapidarium for the presentation of the original inscribed basalt blocks with the fragments of the Emperor Anastasius edict.

• Design of the museologic and museographic Project including the design of showcases, stands, etc; including a training program for local guides and for primary and secondary school teachers.

• Partial anastylosis and display design of architectural elements from the Umayyad mosque which were nor rebuilt in the anastylosis of the mosque.

• Electronic catalogue of the displayed artifacts and those preserved at the Site Museum Storage. This component is being developed in collaboration with the Center for Digital Archaeology (CoDA) of Berkley (California). It has been devised not only as a management tool of the museum collections, but also as an alternative way of presentation to the vistor of the collection in context.

• Virtual reconstruction with 3D computer generated images for the presentation of the site to the visitor. The project includes, experimental execises of Augmented Reallity as part of the didactic & presentation strategy.
