Biography

Dr. Al-Rifai graduated from the University of Jordan, Jordan, with a B. Sc. degree in chemistry in 2004 (Excellent). After that, she obtained
an M. Sc. degree in Organic Chemistry (Excellent) from the same university in 2007 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Musa Nazer. From 2007–2010, Al-Rifai worked as a teaching and research assistant at the Pharmaceutical-chemical engineering department at the German-Jordanian University.
In 2010, she was awarded a DAAD scholarship to do her PhD in Germany. She worked under the supervision of Dr. Sabine Amslinger at the University of Regensburg, Germany. Her work involved the synthesis and biological evaluation of α-substituted chalcones. After receiving her PhD degree in 2014, Al-Rifai joined the pharmaceutical and chemical engineering department, German- Jordanian University, Jordan as an assistant professor. Her research interests are in the field of organic synthesis and Medicinal chemistry.
