The ISTC team supports the E-Learning Moodle platform as a Course Management System (CMS), Learning Management System (LMS), or Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Moodle is a free web application that our educators can use to develop effective online learning sites. Each course in Moodle may have an area where a teacher can add resources and activities for their students to complete. The course page might be a simple page with downloadable documents or it might be a complex set. Moodle also supports the development of online exams with multiple choice, true/false, fill in the blank, and essay questions.

The customized Moodle website for GJU can be found at GJU E-learning Moodle. We fully integrated Moodle with MyGJU such that:

  • Moodle is linked to our active directory i.e., both students and instructors can use their single sign on E-Mail credentials to login to Moodle similarly to how they login to MyGJU
  • Moodle can access all the offered course sections in the current semester (and the coming semesters) from the MyGJU database i.e., it is aware of all the offered course sections, the students enrolled in them, and their instructors
  • When an instructor or a student logs in to his/her Moodle account he/she will automatically see their current course sections without the need to add them manually
  • An instructor will automatically see all the students enrolled in his/her course sections after they login into Moodle
  • The look and feel of Moodle is very close to MyGJU and the website

To login to Moodle just use your GJU E-Mail credentials (i.e., E-Mail username and password).
