Eng. Shuruq Shawish
Eng. Shuruq Shawish is an instructor with extensive experience in mechanical and maintenance engineering. She received her B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Jordan in 2008, graduating with an Excellent Rating and ranking first in her class. Following this, she was awarded a full scholarship by the University of Jordan to pursue an M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, with a specialization in Thermodynamics, which she completed in January 2012.
After completing her education, Eng. Shawish began her teaching career at the University of Jordan, where she taught until September 2016. In October of the same year, she joined German Jordanian University as a full-time lecturer at the Mechanical and Maintenance Engineering Department. Throughout her career, she has gained extensive academic experience in Thermofluids Sciences and Engineering Drawing, which she now imparts to her students as part of her teaching duties. Her courses include Thermodynamics, Thermofluids, Thermal Fluid Science, Computer-Aided Engineering Drawing, Spare Parts and Storage Management, Thermal Systems Lab I, and Thermofluids Lab. In recognition of her expertise in the field of engineering drawing, she has been awarded the Autodesk Certified Professional: AutoCAD certification 2018.
Eng. Shawish has also supervised several graduation projects in Germany and Jordan, which has enabled her to mentor and guide the next generation of engineering professionals. Furthermore, she actively took part in numerous graduation project defense examination committees.
In addition to her teaching and supervisory responsibilities, Eng. Shawish is the coordinator of the Dual Studies Program and serves as the acting Dean Assistant for Industrial Relations at the Applied Technical Sciences School (SATS).
