For the third time, the Falling Walks Lab was implemented in Jordan, organized by the Engineers International Community - EIC, sponsored by the DAAD and supported by GJU as an academic partner. Over 70 young Jordanian scientists and entrepreneurs applied and 20 were selected to present their ideas to an expert jury on 15th of September 2019 in the Amman Chamber of Commerce.

The German Jordanian University proudly announces that Dr. Ammar Alkhalidi from the Energy Engineering Department was awarded the first prize in this competition with his project on solar disinfection of drinking water. Dr. Ammar won the ticket to pitch his project in the finals in November in Berlin.  GJU family wishes him best of luck and success.

Falling Walls Lab is a platform for excellent academics, entrepreneurs and professionals from all disciplines who get the opportunity to present their research work, business model, innovative project or idea with peers and a distinguished jury from academia and business. Each participant has 3-minute time on stage.

Falling Walls Labs take place globally throughout the year. The winner of each international Falling Walls Lab qualifies for the Falling Walls Lab Finale in Berlin, which is held every year on 8 November and is closely connected to the annual and internationally renowned Falling Walls Conference, taking place on 9 November. At the Conference 20, world-class scientists from across the globe present their current breakthrough.
