GJU organizes a Farewell Ceremony for the Outgoing Student

 

The International Office (IO) and Office for Industrial Links (OIL) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) organized a Farewell Ceremony for the Outgoing Students Spring Semester 2021.

 

GJU Vice President for International Affairs, Prof. Ralf Roßkopf, the German Embassy Amman representatives Mrs. Leonie Lorenz and Mr. Nils Kreyenborg as well as the new Director Regional Office of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Mr. Benjamin Schmäling participated in the ceremony via Zoom and gave the students insights and guidance for their trip to Germany.

 

Prof. Roßkopf congratulated the students explaining that they are the bridge between two countries with different cultures. He urged the students to use their time wisely by practicing the German language, engaging with the local students. He clarified that the German Year is a practice of Self-reliance and discipline, maintain a good reputation, and take responsibility.

 

The Director of the International Office (IO), Ms. Stefanie Kirsch stated that after years of preparation and support, the students are ready to take their journey to Germany. She said that the German Year is an important step in their GJU career and a great experience, although it has its challenges, especially with the current situation of the Corona crisis, she assured the students that the IO would continue with their support in any matter.

 

The ceremony’s program included a Farewell Presentation by IO team Raghida Alsanjalawi & Simon Terhaag, “Living, Studying in Germany” presented by GJU Student Nadia Janho.

 

Further, a Farewell Presentation by OIL team Sarah Ababneh, Louise Brenner), followed by Project Office (PO) at Magdeburg, Julia Kölbel, and GJU Student Sakher Al-Jaghoub where he spoke about his internship experience.

 

In the end, the organizing offices answered the student’s questions with the support of Mr. Oliver Loesdau, Managing Director of the financial service provider Fintiba and his colleague Farid Hamarneh - GJU Alumni working at Fintiba.

 

 

 

GJU wishes the students a successful year in Germany and a great time to remember.
