The German Jordanian University (GJU), represented by its President Prof. Manar Fayyad, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amman Chamber of Industry, represented by its President Eng. Fathi Al-Jaghbir on Wednesday, August 4, 2021.

Prof. Manar Fayyad stressed the importance of cooperation between industrialists and researchers at the university to develop the Jordanian industry and address its challenges. Fayyad expressed the university's readiness to support applied scientific research projects and implement projects jointly by industrialists, students and researchers.

For his part, the President of Amman Chamber of Industry, Eng. Fathi Al-Jaghbir stressed the importance of strengthening relations between the industrial sector and Jordanian universities to benefit from the outputs of applied scientific research projects and direct them to meet the needs of the industrial sector.

Jaghbir explained that the Amman Chamber of Industry has previously signed several agreements with public and private Jordanian universities and is working on organizing several programs and initiatives aimed at increasing the level of cooperation and partnership between the industrial sector and universities.

The MoU included linking students with industrial companies, rehabilitate and train them within many programs organized by the Chamber, including the dual studies program at GJU, through which students are trained in industrial companies in their specialization.

It also focused on the industrial university projects program, organizing graduation projects competition, launching programs in the field of innovation, besides announcing vacancies to the graduates.

Dean of the School of Applied Technical Sciences (SATS), Dr. Safwan Al-Tarazi, SATS Dean Assistant Dr. Nidal Al-Shawara attended the signing ceremony besides Director of Office Industrial Links Britta Kähler and Dual Studies Advisor Simone Strasburger from GJU side. On the other hand, Dr. Eyad Abu Haltam, Dr. Nael Al-Hussami, and Eng. Fadel Al-Labadi attended from Amman Chamber of Industry’s side.
