A four-person team from the GJU mechatronics engineering department has joined other Tempus consortium members from Jordan, Egypt, Germany, and the UK, for a week-long training hosted by the Silesian University of Technology (SUT) in Gliwice, Poland. The training was part of the “Training of Trainers” project objective that aims to prepare the non-EU consortium members for delivering “Life Long Learning” mechatronics engineering training courses to working engineers, based on the equipment purchased through the TEMPUS grant.

The training delivered included experiments on industrial robotics and process control, laser measurements and data acquisition, fluid flow control, sensor fusion, and virtual instrumentation. In addition, field visits were conducted to the Polish branches of the KUKA Company in Katowice, and Festo-Poland in Warsaw.

More information about this Tempus project can be obtained by contacting Dr. Nathir Rawashdeh, Chair of the Mechatronics Engineering Department, and Tempus project coordinator.
