This course addresses the basic properties of engineering materials and material behavior related to manufacturing processes. The purpose of the course is to get students acquainted with basic manufacturing processes. This includes casting, forging, rolling, extrusion, drawing. In addition, the student will be introduced to techniques like powder metallurgy and advanced manufacturing techniques. The students also need to be familiar with the process selection and the advantages and disadvantages of different manufacturing processes and their economic analysis.
