Biography

Osamah S. Badarneh received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Quebec-ETS (Canada) in 2009. In Sep. 2018 he joined the Electrical and Communication Engineering Department at German–Jordanian University (GJU), Jordan, where he is currently an Associate Professor. Before joining GJU, he was an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Tabuk (UT) from Sep. 2012- Aug. 2018. Also, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Telecommunication Engineering at Yarmouk University (YU), Jordan, from Jan. 2010-Sep. 2012. He has also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Quebec-ETS in the Department of Electrical  Engineering since Nov. 2013. He has several years of teaching experience both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. His research interests focus on wireless communications and networking. During his Ph.D., he worked on video multicast over wireless ad hoc networks. After that, he worked on designing MAC and routing protocols over cognitive radio networks. He currently works on physical layer security, simultaneous wireless information and power transfer, and fading channel characterizations. In addition, he is interested in performance analysis of wireless MIMO systems including space modulations (space shift keying (SSK), spatial modulation (SM), and spatial multiplexing), beamforming, cooperative communications, dual- and multiple-hop transmission over wireless fading channels, and energy detection over fading channels. He is an active researcher and has published many papers in various refereed journals, conference proceedings, books, and book chapters. He serves as a reviewer for several IEEE journals and conferences.
