Brief Project Description of GJU
The Project Office at the University of Applied Sciences Magdeburg-Stendal coordinates GJU’s network of nearly 120 partner universities and the collaboration with all partners and stakeholders. Prof. Dr. Anne Lequy as Project Director participates in the strategic planning of GJU. Among other responsibilities, the total German budget of the project is administrated and supervised by the Project Office in Magdeburg, including managing and accounting scholarship payments and reporting to the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Furthermore, the team is responsible for all business contacts in Germany and the support of all GJU students throughout their German Year.
The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) under the programme "Transnational Education – binational Universities”.
GJU is intended to serve as a unique university of applied education, experiential learning and professional excellence oriented towards market and industry needs. It will continue to have a remarkable impact on the region as a whole by capitalizing on best practices and expertise in higher education in both countries. GJU has an objective to prepare highly skilled graduates with the relevant knowledge for their respective industries, to contribute positively to socio-economic development, to be able to survive today's fiercely competitive and technologically oriented world, and boost industrial and economic standing in Jordan and the region.
