Study Group Mobility 2021:

Welcome to Jordan, Hochschule Furtwangen University!

This year, October is the Student Group Mobility month as we welcomed the third study group in Jordan last week.

Six students of International Engineering and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sliman Shaikheleid, who is closely associated with GJU, arrived in Amman on the 7th October. Dr. Sameer Hasan from SAMS together with a group of six GJU Biomedical Engineering students welcomed the group of German students. The German and Jordanian students worked on a project “The comparison of medical technology in Jordan and Germany- becoming a part in the network, industry and scientific research”.

On their first day, the students came to campus to get to know the GJU. Next to a guided campus tour and welcome session with the IO, the students got to know more about SAMS and had a lab tour in the SAMS building. Within the framework of the project, the students had working sessions on campus and visited the medical company AMSA as well as the Abdali hospital in Amman. During their final presentation, the students emphasised how impressed they were with the modern equipment in the hospital.

In addition to the academic exchange, the group visited several touristic sites such as Petra, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, Aqaba and Jerash. In Wadi Rum, the students also met our second study group from the DHBW Mannheim. The Jordanian counterpart students supported the group and enabled a successful cultural exchange. We truly hope that the German students will serve as ambassadors for Jordan.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the successful outcome of this Study Group Mobility. We are looking forward to further cooperation together with Hochschule Furtwangen University HFU!
