GJU’s partner companies from the Logistics sector joined a Study Tour to Germany organized by the GIZ in order to learn more about the concept of Dual Studies and cooperative vocational training. The focus was to demonstrate why the private sector in Germany is highly involved in the training of young people, knowing that the yearly amount of money invested by the private sector in Germany on cooperative education is estimated at about 7.7 billion euros.
The Tour took place in Hamburg and Bremen and the group visited: a University that offers a Dual Studies Program (Hamburg School of Business Administration) , a Chamber (Bremen Chamber of Industry and Commerce), Two Companies from the Logistics sector (BLG LOGISTICS GROUP AG & Co. KG and bremenports GmbH & Co. KG) and, a Vocational Training School.
In addition, a meeting with the Senior Experts-Service was organized to introduce the group with the services that are offered by them.
Furthermore, the group toured the Hamburg harbor with special attention on its logistics operations.
When asked about their experience through the study tour all participants have expressed that they had gained a great insight through the journey. Mr. Moath Shahwan. HR Specialist from Central Trade & Auto Co. stated “I think it was an amazing experience, it added a good value to my knowledge about the dual studies program in addition to the sessions (we had before) in Amman.”
Dr. AbdelRahim Alsoussi, who joint the tour as a representative from GJU summarizes his impressions as following: "A fruitful tour that had shown how important it is for the private sector to invest in young talents, and how amazing and inspiring the results of cooperative education could be.”
Moreover, there was a very positive feedback from the German partners that had been visited by the delegation: “International exchange is always inspiriting and it is simply a pleasure with such an and interested group” stated Mr. Klaus Waubke the Senior Relationship Manager, at Hamburg School of Business Administration, a Germany Applied University that is offering Dual Studies Programs amongst others in Logistics Sciences.
