The dual studies program at the German Jordanian University (GJU) successfully continues and grew in number of students and companies in its third year.

Despite all the challenges the economy in Jordan is facing due to the ongoing pandemic, 13 new companies joined the program, bringing the overall number of partner companies to 35.

32 new students started their journey as dual students this year and enrolled in the different dual studies tracks at GJU.

GJU is offering dual studies currently in 4 majors: Logistics Science, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering and, for the first time this year, also in International Accounting.

Dual Studies is an approach that connects theoretical knowledge with practical experiences. Students who are studying within this track will finish their university education with more than one year of practical experience in their study field due to the regular practical phases they spend each year in their associated partner company.

Dual Studies was established to react on the  demand of the private sector to better prepare students for the actual needs of the job market, hence as a reaction to the lack of practical relevance of academic education in JordanBy alternating practical and theoretical phases during the regular study time, students will be ready and prepared for their career directly after they finish their Bachelor Degree.

Within the Logistics major, the first dual students are reaching their final practical phase and some of them have started to work on the graduation project, which is based on an actual work related topic and was developed together with their partner company.

The Dual Studies family at GJU is glad to welcome thirteen new companies who joint the program for the first time: Baby Life, CML, EY, GIZ, Insight, IPSOS, IRC, Jordan Tractor, LafargeHolzim, Maani, Prestige, Tahboub and TGF.

New students were also welcomed as trainees by our existing partners: Aqaba Logistics Village, DHL, Fine, Masafat, Ikea, Maersk, Naouri and Umniah.

This brings the overall number of currently enrolled students in the 4 Dual Studies tracks 35.
