On Thursday 22nd of June 2017, the Director of civil and citizenship department Mr. Fawaz AlShahwan visited the mobile van station for Smart Cards Issuance at GJU.

AlShahwan said that mobile van stations are still available to serve citizens during the working hours in the whole kingdom, explaining that the stations became very popular where the average of smart cards issuance reached 26 thousand cards daily, while this number declined to seven thousand cards a day after charging 2 Jordanian Dinars fees for each card.

 

He clarified that the department evaluate the daily production for its 105 mobile and fixed stations distributed in different places in Jordan, asked people to avoid delaying issuing their new cards.

 

He pointed that the capacity of the electronic chip is 144 KB to hold the current information required such as the fingerprint and the eye print, mentioning that in the future more information will be added to the smart card like driving license, Medical Insurance, and Social Security Information.

 

The Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Omar Shubailat, said that the station is a great assistance to the students and employees in reducing time and effort, expressing appreciations to the University, the civil and citizenship department, and Umniah for this initiative.

 

He added that so far the station issued 300 smart card for GJU’s employees and students and it will continue offering its services after Eid AlFitr.
