Amman- 7 February 2018

In April 2017, The German Jordanian Society Reg. Soc. initiated a design contest, to redesign existing logo. Design and Visual Communication students from The School of Architecture and Built Environment (SABE) at the German Jordanian University (GJU), and Hochschule Rheinmain University of applied sciences Wiesbaden/ Germany, participated in the contest.

Student Aya Barqawi won the first prize for her logo design during the course (Branding) supervised by Arch. Rawan Majzoub.

In the presence of Vice Dean Dr. Maram Al-Tawil, President of the German Jordanian Society Ms. Birgit Tesic-Kurth handed Aya the certificate and reward money.

Ms. Birgit said that she is honored to deliver the reward to Aya, mentioning that the German Jordanian Society has been building cultural bridges for the past 50 years and it is time for the new generation to participate in creating a new concept for the logo.

Barqawi expressed her happiness to contribute to a new era incorporating youth and unity and be part of redesigning a prestigious organization that has served to preserve ties between Jordan and Germany for over 50 years and continues to do so.

It is worthy to mention, that the idea behind the logo came from the concept of cultural exchange, which is the foundation of the society. The exchange was  represented through opposing arrows using strokes that incorporated the colors of the Jordanian and German flags, which unite through the black stroke that represents them both.
