The German Jordanian University’s (GJU) Students Yusuf Rifai and JunQuan Hamuze An of TPS won the first place in the Jordanian Universities Entrepreneurship Competition for students, also GJU students Ahmad Abu Alfeilat and Khaled daoudieh of Lessgo ranked the second place of the same competition.The TPS project is about using the mechanical force of the movement during sleep, thermal energy and most importantly the gravitational force of our weight since we are highly depending on “Piezoelectric Generator” to generate electricity.
As for the Lessgo project, is a long distance ride-sharing platform where passengers with no means of transportation and drivers with empty car seats meet to share the same journey in order to reduce cost, traffic, and CO2 emissions.
It is worth mentioning that the number of teams participated in the competition exceeded 90 teams from 7 Jordanian universities. This was during the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), which ended with rewarding the winners by Princess Sumaya Bint El Hassan.
The President of GJU Prof. Manar Fayyad met with the winning teams and congratulated them on their success. She encouraged them to keep the great efforts and continue in participating in both local and international competition especially in the field of Entrepreneurship and innovation.
The students gave the competition’s shield to the president in the presence of the Dean of Student Affairs (DSA), Dr. Raed Khasawneh, Director of the Office for Industrial Links (OIL), Britta Kähler, and Eng. Ali Al-Ghussein from the Program of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
