On Tuesday, April 2, 2019, a German delegation consisted of the Head of Near East Division at the Federal Foreign Office, Dr. Tobias Tunkel and the Cultural Attaché at the German Embassy in Amman; Mr. Tobias Caris visited the German Jordanian University (GJU).

The President of GJU Prof. Manar Fayyad and Vice President Prof. Atef Kharabsheh welcomed the delegation in the presence of the Director of the Office for Industrial Links (OIL) Mrs. Britta Kähler, the Director of Edu- Syria Dr. Dia Abu Tair, and the Director of the International Office Mr. Jens Hegemann.

The delegation visit aims at learning more about GJU and the higher education system in Jordan, in addition to learning about the unique features and strengths points of the university.

The delegation together with the GJU side engaged in a discussion where a detailed explanation was presented about the university, its programs and specialties, the German year, partnerships with German Universities, industrial collaborations and refugees’ situation within the project of Edu- Syria.

In their turn, Kähler and Abu Tair highlighted the accomplishments and projects achieved in their fields and its impacts on the students and the country.

From his side, Dr. Tobias Tunkel affirmed the positive relations between Jordan and Germany expressing that the German Jordanian University is an example of this distinctive bilateral relation.
