On Sunday 28th 2018, the German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his accompanying delegation, visited Graduate School of Business Administration (GSBA) / German Jordanian University (GJU) located at the King Hussein Business Park.

The President of GJU, Prof. Manar Fayyad, praised the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II and the political leadership in Germany to establish and support the university to realize a university with a German dimension and a strong focus on application orientation in education and science.

Fayyad added that GJU represents a bright image of the bilateral relations between the two countries and has close cooperation with the German industrial sector and more than 100 German universities partners.

She pointed out that the fourth “German Year”, in which all GJU Bachelor students study one semester in Germany and spend one semester internship in a German company, is important for both students and university. In addition, this year is full of cultural, social and economic experiences and influences the students’ personality and intercultural skills.

Fayyad valued the support of German institutions including the German Embassy, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), German foundations and other German organizations in the presence of the German Ambassador Birgitta Siefker-Eberle, DAAD President Prof. Magret Wintermantel, delegation members from important German foundations and both Vice-Presidents Prof. Dorit Schumann and Prof. Atef Al-Kharabsheh.

During the visit, The Dean of the Graduate School of Business Administration, Dr. Majdy Zureikat, presented a summary about the School and its excellence in graduating specialists in business administration disciplines.

The German Federal President Steinmeier also attended a strategic management class, met with the instructor, Prof. Dr. Mamoun Akroush, and his MBA students, and listened to their presentations about strategic projects. He was interested in both the background and interests of the students and their work-experience and the presented projects.
