The School of Natural Resources Engineering and Management (SNREM) - Energy Engineering Department at the German Jordanian University (GJU) placed first and third in the Competition for the Best Graduation Projects in Renewable Energy.

The competition was organized by the Jordanian-German Center of Excellence for Solar Energy in collaboration with the National Employment and Training Company and was hosted at the Business Innovation Growth (BIG) powered by Orange.

Engineer Sara Mansour, supervised by Dr. Mohamad Khawaja and Dr. Ammar Alkhalidi, won first place for her work on the environmental impacts of energy storage waste and regional legislation to curtail their effects – highlighting the status in Jordan; while Hebah Althahabi, supervised by Engineer Firas Alawneh won third place for her work on Bifacial Photovoltaic Systems: Tracking Modelling and Performance.

Dr. Arwa Abdelhay, Dean of SNREM, attending on behalf of the President of GJU, Prof. Manar Fayyad, received a Plaque in recognition of the effective participation of the University in the competition.
