Out of fifty-eight scientific research proposals, the Research and Innovation Fund Management Committee at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Jordan sponsored collaborative scientific research with the German Jordanian University's (GJU) on combating the spread of Coronavirus.

The selected research entitled “Corporates’ Role in Mitigating Economic Deterioration during the Coronavirus Crisis by Employing Know-hows and Resources” was conducted in the field of human, social, and economic sciences with the participation of three of GJU's researchers; Dr. Aziz Madi, Dr. Omar Shubailat, and the Director of the Program of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (PIE), Eng. Jamil AlKhatib.

 Dr. Madi, a lecturer in the School of Management and Logistics Science (SMLS), and the Director of the Library noted that the research is based on modern approaches in knowledge management.

He described the knowledge as the most valuable resource in an economy that has become known as the knowledge economy, where the success of companies during the crisis depends on how well they managed and used their accumulated knowledge.

For his part, Dr. Al-Shubailat, also a lecturer in (SMLS), and the director of the Consultation and Training Center (CTC), stressed the importance of research that focuses on studying and understanding local market variables, and the market's thirst for these applied and practical studies.

He added, “Out of our experience in the domain of consulting and training and through our dealings with the most important companies in the market, we noted the need for applied studies and the use of practical methods of management to ensure success, especially in difficult times such as the Corona pandemic."
