The German Jordanian University (GJU) successfully conducted its 4th Dual Studies Company Day, where more than 80 company representatives and around 150 students attended the event.

Dual Studies Company Day aims to introduce the companies to the students and facilitate the matching process for this year's intakes in the Dual Studies Track for the majors: Logistics Science, International Accounting, Management Science, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical, and Pharma Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Architecture, German and English for Business and Communication.

During the ceremony, Vice-President of GJU, Prof. Ralf Rosskopf, welcomed the companies and the students participating in the event, stating how enthusiastic he feels seeing the program growing each year. He expressed that Dual Studies is a great opportunity to strengthen the application-oriented character of the GJU and enter into sustainable relationships with the private sector.

Dr. Wolfgang Frohberg, from the German Development Cooperation GIZ, was impressed by the number of interested students and companies. “This gives us hope for the sustainability of the project and that the support from GIZ is well invested”, he stated.  

The Dean of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship (DIE-TECH), Dr. Nidal Alshwawreh, explained the opportunities that arise from the partnerships between companies and the university, explaining that they allow students to have contact with the private sector during their studies and take the experience they gather back to the classrooms, which is enrichment for teaching. He added that GJU hopes for further synergies, such as topics for graduation theses and applied research for the professors.

Moreover, Ms. Simone Strasburger, Dual Studies Advisor at GJU, highlighted the achievements of the last years and thanked all the partners involved in the success of this program. She stated that GJU welcomed 21 new partners to the Program: Andersen, Assarai, AtaRabah, Crowe, Dar Al Manhal Publishers, Hadayana, Hapaq-Lloyd, Hikma, Jordan Amco, Kader, Lafarge, Leaders, NEA, Nabil Foods, Naratech, Bustami & Saheb, Nuqul Automotive, Petra Engineering, RAM Pharma, RZ.

It is worth mentioning that the following partners will have an intake in Dual Studies this year: ALV, Amin Kawar, AutoHub, CMA CGM, Estarta Solutions, EY, GIZ, Intrasoft, Maersk, Naouri, Petra Drugstore, Tahboub, Abu Khader Automotive, Zain, Maltrans, Globitel, Jordan Insurance Company, MasKreeda, Grand Hyatt Hotel Amman, Arab Drugstore.

With the Dual Studies Team's support and supervision, the participating companies met the students, introduced their businesses, and gained a first impression of the students. Almost 150 first-year students were using the chance to learn more about GJU's partner companies.
