The International Projects Office at the German Jordanian University (GJU) conducted a Workshop on “Call for proposals of Erasmus+ Phase II, 2021-2027” for its academic members in the presence of the President of GJU, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli.

Dr. Al-Halhouli stressed the importance of participating in Erasmus Plus projects such as education, data processing, and innovation, stating the significance of exchanging knowledge, ideas, and learning from previous experiences to allow everyone to participate in one of the most successful programs (Erasmus+) because of its many benefits for students and institutions and home.

Director of IPO, Eng. Rasha Al-Homoud, presented an overview on GJU’s participation in Erasmus+ Phase I (2014 –2020), where it participated in 10CBHE projects, a grant holder for one project with a total share of the grants € 961,445. In this phase, GJU contributed in the following project areas: Master in Traffic Safety, Vocational training, National Qualification Framework for Jordan, Teaching modules on  Socio-Economic Impacts of the Renewable Energy Implementation, Climate Change, Smart grid of renewable energy system, Virtual innovative teaching and learning, Establishing Technology Transfer Offices (ongoing), and Master in Cyber-Physical Systems (ongoing).

The presentation included, call for proposals in Capacity Building projects and Erasmus Mundus, objectives, main actions, eligibility, how to apply, awards, timeline, submission of competitive proposals, and the conditions of successful application.

Moreover, Dhiah Abou-Tair, a Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (SEEIT), shared his experience with Erasmus+ proposals in Capacity Building for Higher Education projects, highlighting types of projects, region, and budget and the importance of collaborating with other researchers.
