The President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Manar Fayyad, and the Head of the educational sector at Huawei in Jordan, Naser Abdel Nour, discussed cooperation between the two sides in areas of common interest.

The meeting was attended by the Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (SEEIT), Dr. Raed Musleh, the Head of the Computer Department, Dr. Omar Al-Hayari at GJU, and Huawei’s Owner of the ICT talent Ecosystem in Jordan, Nuran Abu Rabie.

Fayyad affirmed the university’s keenness to cooperate with a leading company such as Huawei in the field of information and communication technology, and to involve students in programs that would increase their chances in the labor market.

She expressed her hope that the cooperation would lead to the establishment of Huawei Academy at the University, specialized in training and development platform for human resources.

For his part, Abdel Nour praised GJU’s distinguished academic reputation and the excellence of its graduates in the workplace, stressing Huawei’s aspiration to cooperate with the University and build a solid partnership to serve the education sector.

During the meeting, Huawei’s representatives reviewed the CSR programs offered to the local talent cultivation such as, The Huawei ICT Academy Program that transfers the industrial knowledge to the students in the university.

They explained that Huawei ICT Academy works with academia to bridge the ICT knowledge & skills gap, globally established for none profit educational programs, provides training and learning solutions to meet ICT industry requirements, and builds ICT industry talent ecosystem.

Also, the Seeds for the Future Program, where the talents would be sent to China Headquarter to touch the latest technology. in addition to the ICT competition, which is a pilot project used for the selection of top talents in cooperation with Crown Prince foundation- Jordan to lead to a better connected and skilled youth.
