KooZA/rch is an experimental digital platform researching the potential of the Architectural Imaginary that approaches the architects not as one who builds, but rather one who has the power to imagine.
Our former student at the Architecture and Interior Architecture Department- the School of Architecture and Built Environment (SABE) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) is a creative, versatile individual who is overflowing with the potential to make a profound and lasting positive influence in the field of Architecture. She thinks that the most important tool in architecture is the ability to create.
As she said in her interview, “An architect can be a voice for change, in the profession, what is more, the way we live. The architect has the opportunity not only of creating structures but also to create systems, strategies, and positive social change through their designs. Therefore, architecture has to extend beyond an aesthetics-based assessment, to include considerations of ethics, questioning social and political standards, and rethinking traditional issues”
She implemented her beliefs in her Graduation project that was supervised by Arch. Tha'er Qub’a that was about changing the concept of jails based on:
“BEING IN PRISON IS THE PUNISHMENT, ARCHITECTURE DOESNT HAVE TO BE”.
“FROM A WALL TO A PLATFORM, FROM A PLATFORM TO A VILLAGE”
Taleen has always been interested in the interplay between urban space and people in the built environment, product design, and post-digital artwork. During the last four years, she received more than 5 awards for her research, design, and academic achievements.
The idea of her project was to limit the movement of prisoners taking into consideration the connection with their surroundings as an active part of the urban fabric.
