On Wednesday, November 6, 2019, Under the Patronage of the President of the German Jordanian University (GJU) Prof. Manar Fayyad, the University hosted the Higher Education Regional Cooperation Day organized by the by International Projects Office (IPO) and the National Erasmus+ Office in Jordan.

The Day aimed to introduce the European Union program (Erasmus+) for education, training, youth, and sport for the period 2014-2020. The Vice Presidents of GJU Prof. Atef Kharabsheh and Prof. Ralf Roßkopf, GJU's academic staff, in addition to academics from public and private Jordanian Universities attended the event.

Prof. Manar Fayyad welcomed all participants from the Jordanian Universities attending to exchange experience. She said," In this occasion, I would like to invite you to work together as partners to develop the higher education sector in different fields of education, training, and youth to enrich our universities with the skills and qualifications towards the internationalization of education and growing use of the latest technologies and tools for flexible learning through the learning and working experience of institutions in Europe."

She added that the German Jordanian University is currently participating in five projects in capacity building of higher education, in addition to another five projects in the past years, one of them in the field of the Socio-Economic Impacts of the Renewable Energy Implementation, where GJU is the grant holder.

Furthermore, Fayyad specified that GJU supports staff and students' mobility to EU institutions for training and teaching.

The event included two sessions, where in the first session, Prof. Ahmad Abu- El Haija Director of National Erasmus+ Office and the team in Jordan introduced the learning mobility of individuals, Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange and Jean Monnet.

In the second session, they presented the Capacity Building in Higher Education, key characteristics, application, and selection procedure.

In the end, the participants engaged in a discussion to exchange ideas and suggestions for future projects.
