Amman- 29 July 2020

The Information Systems and Technology Center (ISTC) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) launched an electronic platform to receive admission applications for new students for the first semester of the academic year 2020/2021, especially for students currently outside of Jordan.

The President of GJU, Prof. Manar Fayyad, expressed her pride in this achievement, which was built in house with the efforts of the Center's Director Dr. Feras Al-Hawari and staff, stating that this project came as a response to the challenges imposed by the occurrence of the Coronavirus crisis around the world.

Fayyad added that the platform would enable students who were incapable to reach Jordan, to submit applications for admission to all majors and academic programs offered by the university at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Dr. Feras Al-Hawari stated that the platform offers many advantages, foremost of which is managing the admission applications electronically, including filling the personal information of the student, entering the data of the high school certificate, uploading the required documents and certificates, in addition to choosing the required majors.

Al-Hawari added that the student must create an account in the new system, and then an activation code will be sent to the student's email to enable the student to proceed with the registration process.

He also clarified that each account is linked to an electronic payment number that permits the student to pay the application fee electronically via the E-Fawateercom service through the e-banking channels of all Jordanian banks.

It is worth noting that the programming team consisted of Dr. Feras Al-Hawari, Engineers Mohammad Al-Habahbeh, Anoud Alufieshat, and Hala Barham, and managed in record time with tremendous efforts to develop a system that saves GJU a lot of money and helps students around the world to submit their applications fully online.
