On Wednesday 15th of August 2018, under the patronage of Chairman of Board of Trustees of the German Jordanian University (GJU), H.E Eng. Othman Bdeir, the School of Architecture and Built Environment (SABE), in partnership with Nabih Elias Azzam & Partners (NEA), celebrated the Launch of the Professional Diploma in Quantity Surveying.

the launch was attended by the president of GJU, Prof. Manar Fayyad, the Dean of SABE, Dr. Ziyad Haddad, Dean of the School of Medical Applied Sciences (SAMS), Dr. Adnan Lahham, the team of NEA, and guests from Jordanian universities, organizations and associations related to the field.

Chairman & CEO of NEA, Eng. Nabih Azzam, gave a brief about the beginnings of the company, and the history of the Quantity Surveying, highlighting the challenges and difficulties accompanied with the beginnings, especially finding passionate young people to join the field.

Chief Operating Officer, Luay Azzam and Chief Business Development Officer, Laith Azzam conducted presentations on the definitions, roles, and services of the Quantity surveyor, besides a detailed explanation of the diploma, structure, and terms.

Through the Quantity Surveying Professional Diploma, students will be able to develop full knowledge of the duties of Quantity Surveyors and understand how they operate as cost managers within the construction industry.

Furthermore, students will be able to apply their knowledge and understanding on practical scenarios designed to simulate services by the Quantity Surveyor, and they will understand the different elements of construction and accordingly manage costs effectively and fairly across the board.

The Diploma will be delivered over nine months split into two semesters; the timing of the lectures will be in the evening and on weekends.
