As part of the Erasmus+ capacity building project (The International Master of Science on Cyber-Physical Systems (MS@CPS), Dr. Dhiah el Diehn I. Abou-Tair, Dr. Ala’ Khalifeh, Dr. Sahel Alouneh, and Dr. Raed Mesleh from the school of Electrical Eng. and Information Technology(SEEIT) from thr German Jordanian University (GJU) participated in a project meeting held at the higher institute of computer and multimedia, University of Sfax, Tunisia from 5th -7th November 2019.

31 attendees were representing the nine partner universities consortium participated in the meeting sessions over three full days. The consortium discussed the current status and the progress in the different work packages of the project. The consortium agreed to accelerate accreditation procedures to launch the master program in Fall 2020 and to start teaching for admitted graduate students in the program.

MS@CPS is a collaborative effort among European (Germany, Sweden, and the UK) and MENA countries (Jordan, Tunis, and Palestine) to establish an International Master of Science on Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs). Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) is a new multidisciplinary subject that tackles the integration process between the various software and hardware technologies while maintaining a user-friendly and secure human-computer environment. The envisioned master program will focus on the contemporary recent technologies in various important applications in our daily life, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), autonomous driving, smartphones, embedded systems, big data, semantic computing, cloud computing, etc. The project is funded by the European Union within Erasmus+ program.

The project partners plan to have the next face to face meeting at “The University of Hertfordshire” in Hatfield, the United Kingdom in March 2019. The meeting will include training sessions on selected CPS topics and part of the schedule will be devoted to review the progress status and to identify the next steps.
