On Tuesday, the 27th of March 2018, the Graduate School of Business Administration (GSBA) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) hosted the Director General of the Jordanian Deposit Insurance Corporation (JODIC) Mr. Mu’taz Barbour as a guest speaker. Mr Barbour was welcomed by the Dean of the GSBA Dr Majdy Zuriekat and the faculty members.
Mr. Barbour delivered a session for GSBA’s students about the historical background and the idea of the deposit insurance.
He spoke about the Jordanian case, procedures and efforts conducted by JODIC in insuring deposits in the Banking Sector and protecting clients of Banks in Jordan.
He also explained terms and conditions conducted by JODIC to enhance the confidence of the Jordanian Banking Sector.
At the end of the session, Mr. Barbour answered questions and concerns raised by students and faculty about issues discussed during the presentation including how JODIC plays a vital role in enhancing the investment and trust climate of the Jordanian Economy.
At the end of the visit, the Dean of GSBA and the Director General of JODIC discussed possibilities for having more future sessions and workshops at GJU and how to enhance mutual relationships and cooperation between GJU and JODIC. Mr. Barbour granted GSBA a shield of JODIC as an appreciation for the invitation.
