On Thursday 28th of June 2018, the School of Management and Logistic Sciences (SMLS), at the German Jordanian University (GJU), celebrated the handing of the certificates of the European logistics association (cELOGS), to the first group of the logistic sciences department’s graduates of the School of Management and Logistic sciences.

The president of the University, Prof. Manar Fayyad, during the ceremony which was held in Darat Othman bdair and with the presence of vice presidents, Dr. Atef Al Kharabsheh, Dr. Dorit Shumann, the Dean of SMLS Dr. Malek Al Sharairi,  and Mr. Jos Marinus the former president of (ELA) and board member, has pointed out to the importance of this certificate in order to enhance the quality of the graduates and to prepare them for the labor market.

Fayyad also has mentioned, that she is proud of all graduates who are currently working in different governmental and private sectors and how they have employed the experience that they have gained during their work and study in Jordan and Germany.

From his side, Dr. Malek Al Sharairi has briefly presented some facts and numbers about the SMLS , saying that 857 students have graduated from the school, 294 of which have graduated from the logistic sciences department, and the current enrolled students in the school are 1000 students.

Dr. Al Sharairi has also pointed out  the dual study track, which was implemented by the faculty during last semester in cooperation with Aqaba Logistics village.

While Mr. Marinus has indicated that, the (ELA) is a federation of 30 national organizations, covering almost every country in central and Western Europe, which aims to provide an international forum for networking, the promotion and development of the logistics and supply chain profession.

On the other hand, Marinus has encouraged the graduates to keep learning to develop logistic sciences as a profession.

At the end of the ceremony, Prof. Fayyad handed the certificates to the graduates.
