Under the patronage of her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya Bent Al Hasan, represented by Prof. Natheer Abu. Obeid, the German Jordanian University President, the Engineering, Energy, Science and Technology Congress (ESTC) was inaugurated at  GJU on Monday, 18 May, 2015.   

 

Prof. Abu Obeid pointed out that ESTC aims to bring together leading scientists, engineers, interest groups, industrial experts from all around the world to exchange and share their research results, experiences and knowledge on the aspects of advancements in Engineering, Energy, Science and Technology.

 

He also added that ESTC congress includes two parallel conferences; the Eight International Conference on Thermal Engineering (ICTEA 2015), which is anticipated to link between conventional and emerging research areas in thermal energy, and to be rotated around the Middle East, Gulf and North African region countries. 

 

The other conference of Young Scientists on Innovative Applied Renewable Energy Researches ( ICYS-ARE 2015 ) aims at bringing young scientists working in the renewable energy related fields together to exchange experiences and join efforts to promote the implementation of renewable energies.    

 

For his part Prof. Majed Abu Zreig, Dean of the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research emphasized that the congress is functioning to bring together experts, scientists, professors, industry, industry personnel involved in the energy sector and research not only at the local or regional level but also at the international level.

 

“The congress discusses an important current issue for the whole world; Energy and how can we secure energy for our and for the next generations” Prof. Abu Zreig said.

 

Prof. Suhil Kiwan, Dean of School of Natural Resources Engineering and Management  stressed on the necessary to open up new prospects in the field of renewable energy, pointing out to the energy situation in Jordan.
