On Monday, July 2, 2019, The Ebtikar Innovation for Creativity Development Association launched the Third Scientific Camp at the German Jordanian University (GJU) in cooperation with the Consultation and Training Center (CTC), The School of Applied Medical Sciences and the Nanotechnology Laboratory at GJU.
The meeting was attended by Vice President Dr. Atef Kharabsheh, the scientist at the University of Illinois Dr. Munir Nayfeh, Dr. Laila Abu Hassan, Dr. Irfan Ahmed, the Director of CTC Dr. Omar Shubailat and a number of teachers and students.
The President of the association, Suria Ayyad mentioned the objectives of the camp, which are helping teachers to raise the motivation and interest of their students towards science and technology through scientific experiments in Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences and Geology in an integrated approach that links scientific concepts, laws and sports with their applications. In addition to link Arts and Reading through easy and enjoyable scientific experiments within the reach of teachers and the students.
Ayyad pointed out that the camp aims at teachers of Science and Mathematics and students from different regions in Jordan, relying on the principle of learning through the experimental work, which includes five days of training for various interactive activities that stimulate students to follow the methodology of scientists and innovators in thinking and work.
The supervisor of the Nanotechnology Laboratory at GJU Dr. Alaaldeen Al-Halhouli gave a brief about the laboratory, its objectives and its projects. Pointing out that the German Jordanian University has provided the scientific laboratories and halls to achieve the objectives of the camp.
At the end of the ceremony, the association honored the scientist Nayfeh in recognition of his pioneering efforts in the field of Nanotechnology and the German Jordanian University in recognition of its support for the programs of the association.
Ebtikar has won the biggest prize for best educational practices in the world at the LUMA StarT International Award- Jordan Level and the Challenges of the Future Scientists 2019”.
