A delegation from the Royal Air Force visited the German Jordanian University (GJU), to learn about the university and its programs and discuss ways of cooperation between the two parties in the field of renewable energy, environment, water desalination, and information technology.

The delegation met with the President of GJU Prof. Manar Fayyad, in the presence of the Dean of the School of Natural Resources Engineering and Management (NREM) Dr. Munjid Al-Sharif, the Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (SEEIT) Dr. Sahl Alawneh. In addition to the Dean of the School of Architecture and Built Environment (SABE) Dr. Ziad Haddad, the Director of Information Systems and Technology Center (ISTC) Dr. Firas Al-Hawari and faculty in the Department of Energy.

During the meeting, Fayyad briefed the delegation members about the establishment of GJU and its academic programs. She pointed out the essential role the university plays in the region by applying knowledge into practice.

Adding that the university has strong relations with the industrial sector in Germany and Jordan where it provides excellent training opportunities for its students in the most prestigious German companies to acquire the expertise and knowledge to enable them to serve their country after graduation.

For his part, Commander of Prince Faisal Technical College praised GJU’s reputation and the quality of its students. He pointed out that cooperation provides benefits for both parties scientifically and practically in the fields of engineering and information technology.

Moreover, the delegation’s members and faculty of the SNREM discussed action plans for the implementation of bilateral energy cooperation.

At the end of the visit, the delegation toured the laboratories of energy, water, telecommunications, and information technology.

It is noteworthy that GJU and the Royal Air Force have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop Renewable Energy Curriculums, Training of Trainers and Joint Projects Partnership.
