Delegation from Thailand visited GJU to discuss ways of cooperation between both sides in the fields of scientific research and cultural exchange of students and faculty members.

 

During the meeting with the delegates Prof. Natheer Abu.Obeid, the GJU President pointed out to the great role of GJU in enriching the process of Higher Education in the region through developing the technical and applied aspects.

The president also briefed the delegation on the university’s educational system, achievements and mission in addition to the critical importance of the German year for the GJU students.

 

The Vice President of Prince Songkla University, Prof. Perapong Tekasakul, spoke about   PSU and said that it is the first university in Southern Thailand, established in 1967, and it consists of four campuses and one education service area.   He also added that PSU offers 295 educational programs to its 34,000 students, including 18 international programs and 3 foreign language programs.

 

The economic and cultural consul at the Thai embassy in Amman Apaicheep Bunnag, emphasized that it is very necessary to the universities to interact with  local communities and meet their needs.

At the end of the meeting a wide discussion was held between the delegates and the attendees Dr. Majed Abu Zreig, Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Yasser Rajjal, Assistant to the President for Communications and Public Relations, and Muneer Bani Younis, Director of Marketing and Public Relations Department.

 

It is worthy to mention that the Thai delegation visited GJU in the frame of their participation in the Jordanian Thai Business Forum, which concluded on Tuesday in Amman.
