On Sunday, September 30, 2018 the International Office (IO) at the German Jordanian University (GJU), organized a welcome meeting for International incoming students- fall semester, in the presence of the president of GJU Prof. Manar Fayyad, Vice presidents Dr. Atef Kharabsheh and Dr. Dorit Schumann.

The president of GJU, Prof. Manar Fayyad welcomed the students and wished them a fruitful stay in Jordan and GJU, giving them an introduction about the university especially the German dimension that is considered the most distinguished feature in GJU.

Vice President for International Affairs, Dr. Schumann passed her own experience living in Jordan to the students, mentioning that it has been a remarkable one in terms of learning more about the language, traditions, culture, food and archeological sites.

Dr. Kharabsheh focused on the importance of mixing with GJU’s students and the society in order to clear any misconception that they might formed about the region or Islam, urging them to be open minded to learn the truth about Islam that calls for peace.

Additionally, the Office for Industrial Links (OIL), briefed the incoming students about the services and activities they offer to GJU’s students, such as Career Fair and the Program of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, encouraging them to be part of these activities.

Incoming Coordinator at the IO, Rakan Al Dweiri outlined the procedures and actions the students should be aware of for an easy and smooth stay during their period of study at GJU, such as the health insurance, Arabic language courses, transportation and registration.

It is worthy to mention that The GJU offers 19 Undergraduate programs and 14 Postgraduate (Masters) programs, with a student body. The exchange program includes Arabic language training courses, internship opportunities, excursions and activities.
