Admission Requirements


Undergraduate Programs:

  • The Jordanian General Secondary Certificate or an equivalent certificate with a minimum average of 80% (Scientific Stream) for applicants to the B.Sc. Program in Architecture, and a minimum average of 75% (Scientific, IT, or Literary Streams) for applicants to the B.A. Program in Design and Visual Communication.

  • Placement Exam and Admission Interview with Portfolio illustrating applicant abilities and development skills of the visual world using freehand sketching, photography, and computer media.

Placement Exam Instructions:

1. On exam day all registered applicants must:

a. Arrive on-time. Placement Exam will be held at 09:30 am. Please allow for 25 minutes transportation time from 7th circle, Amman, to GJU permanent campus at Al Mushaqar, Amman- Madaba Road.

b. Present Registration Card.

c. Bring all necessary drawing and modeling tools (pencils, colored pencils, eraser, Stanley knife, glue, etc.)

d. Bring Portfolio. (see Placement Exam- Nature, Requirements, and Instructions.pdf)

e. Sit for an Admissions Interview. Interviews will run directly after Placement Exam based on arrival sequence. Interview wait time could run up to 2.5 hours.

Please keep in mind you will be at GJU permanent campus for at least 4 hours. Come prepared.

2. Taking the Exam

a. Except for a dictionary you are not allowed to use any supplementary material.

b. Use a pen (not a pencil) except for drawing and sketching.

c. Please write your name onto each sheet.

d. All solutions can be written directly onto the exam sheets. If you need more space for your solution ask the supervisors for a sheet of official paper. You are not allowed to use other paper.

e. Please write legibly. We will only correct solutions that we can read.

f. Manage your time carefully (take into account the number of points for each question).

g. Do not forget to add comments to features.

h. Please immediately tell the supervisors of the exam if you feel disturbed during the exam.


 

 

Postgraduate Programs:

Bachelor's Degree, with minimum merit of GOOD, in a relevant field.

• TOEFL or an equivalent English Proficiency Test with a minimum score of 500.

• Admission interview.

• Portfolio that demonstrates projects undertaken during study and practice.

• Short Research Statement.

• Three Letters of Reference.

• C. V. illustrating the applicants' qualifications and experiences.
