Dean's Message: 

The 2008-2009 academic year is a benchmark date for the German Jordanian University (GJU) and for our School of Applied Natural Sciences (SANS), where our first batch of fourth year students are joining their counter partner German Applied Universities in Germany. In the second semester of this academic year, our faculty students will join the appropriate industry, dealing with energy engineering, or water and environmental engineering.

On this occasion we welcome our new students who will have an undoubtedly a new and unique educational experience that they will cherish in the future. As we may witness around us, many new universities are being established, but the unique feature in our Faculty are the specialized programs in energy engineering, water and environmental engineering. These undergraduate engineering programs, are not available in other universities, in Jordan and the region, and are vital to the proper development of any country.

In our School and GJU at large we stress quality teaching and promote applied research in the fields of energy, water and environment. We believe in small size classes that will give the opportunity for a better faculty-student interaction. We do not only emphasize on teaching the engineering specializations but also on teaching multicultural and democratic values. In addition we have a one to one contact hour ratio in the study plans, between theoretical lectures and laboratory sessions, which emphasize the importance of the applied aspect of technology transfer at GJU.

As you join our School of Applied Natural Sciences, we invite you to take this opportunity in order to ponder about the many problems facing our countries and the world, and to work hard to find new innovative solutions to our energy, water and environmental problems. We at SANS, staff and faculty, are looking forward to assist you in achieving your goals
