The 2nd Global Politics Summer School at GJU

The German Jordanian University
in cooperation with Free University of Berlin organized the 2nd
Global Politics Summer School under the title of “Old Neighbors, New Partners:
Continuity and Change in Eu - Middle
East Relations” which started its curriculum on Saturday 30 June 2012. The
school aims at offering a platform for existing debates in International
relations and strengthening the ties between Free University of Berlin and its
partner universities.
Various modules will be covered
during the two weeks school including: New Approaches to Global Politics, (New)
Media and Politics in International Comparison, Energy Policy, The Middle
Eastern Conflict – Past, Present and Future. From the Palestine Issue to the
Ara Bellion and Beyond, Conflict Management, Foreign Policy in the Aftermath of
the Arab Spring, and Migration and Refugees. The school schedule also contains supporting
programs such as: panel discussion entitled “The Arab spring and Other Seasons:
What Role for Social Media in Triggering Political Renewal”, a talk with the
German Ambassador in Jordan HE Dr. Ralph Tarraf and a visit to the
EU-Delegation in Amman. Moreover; a guided city tour in Amman and an excursion
to Petra are also part of the participants’ program.
Note worth mentioning that
modules will be given by a group of German and Jordanian instructors, those
are: Prof. Klaus Segbers, Ms. Swenja
Kopp, Dr. Matthias Adolf,Prof. Christiane J. Froehlich, Prof. Hasan Al-Momani,Prof.
Walid Abu-Dalbouh, Ms. Myra Sabongi
