“A Taste of Darkness” challenge your scenes
On Tuesday the 3rd of May 2011, the Vision Rehabilitation Diploma program at the German Jordanian University organized a fund raising event in cooperation of the Landmark hotel.
“A Taste of Darkness” was a dining in the dark experience, were all attendees were led by a visual impaired guide into a dark room, the guide then seated the guests on their tables and served the appetizers, then explain to all on the table how to approach food when you can’t see it, after the appetizers the main dish was served and also explained by the guide.
A guest, Mrs. Suzan Yamek-Abida said: “It was really interesting, we do not appreciate the daily blessings we have till we encounter someone who is challenged and see how they overcome the difficulties and obstacles, it was extremely interesting for me to know that we can differentiate between salt and paper through depending on their weight, we fail to notice such things since we depend more on our sight that our other senses”
Dr. Nathalie Bussieres, coordinator of the Vision Rehabilitation program is responsible for both the Vision Rehabilitation Diploma program and the Masters program, this program is unique in all of the Middle East, students from Egypt, Palestine and Cameron were among the graduates.
