GJU- 25 January 2025
The Deanship of Student Affairs (DSA) and the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) branch at the German Jordanian University (GJU) organized a workshop on HVAC Systems and Performance Calculations for students in cooperation with the Arab Technical Group ATG.
This workshop was held in two sessions: the first on the university’s main campus and the second at the group’s headquarters.
In the first session, Engineer Samar Abdel Hadi from ATG introduced the fundamentals of HVAC systems. She delved into the main basics, helping participants understand how these systems work and highlighting the advancements that have made modern HVAC systems more efficient than ever before.
This workshop is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of HVAC systems, making it perfect for both beginners and those looking to enhance their existing skills. Participants had the opportunity to engage with industry experts, ask questions, and network with fellow enthusiasts.
The second session took place at the ATG headquarters. This session built upon what we learned at the university campus, diving deeper into the VRV system. Participants explored the benefits of VRV systems and how they contribute to significant energy savings.
After the workshop, AEE students had an exciting field trip to Salt City to explore its historic buildings. These old structures are constructed from materials that prevent heat transfer from the outside, enhancing energy efficiency within the buildings. Students were fascinated to see how these ancient techniques contribute to modern energy efficiency!
Eng. Almothana Arabiat, Member of the Greater Salt Municipality, also discussed upcoming energy projects that will be implemented and shared a glimpse into the future of sustainable energy solutions in Salt City.
