Under the patronage of the President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, the Center for E-learning and Academic Performance Improvement (CeLAPI) organized a ceremony to distribute the training certificates for the faculty members who completed the requirements of the “Online and Blended Learning” course as well as the teaching assistants who completed the requirements of the “Developing E-Learning Content” course.

The “Online and Blended Learning” course covered several topics, such as state-of-the-art pedagogical approaches for developing electronic and blended learning courses, instructional design methods, E-learning content development tools, and learning management system administration. Furthermore, the “Developing E-Learning Content” course covered different tools for developing E-learning content, such as H5P, iSpring, and Articulate, in addition to regulations, guidelines, and training sessions related to the use of open educational resources and utilizing the learning management system.

Prof. Al-Halhuli emphasized the importance of using state-of-the-art learning methods and tools to enrich the educational process at GJU as well as realize the university strategic plan and the regulations for integrating E-learning into the university programs that are set by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. In addition, Prof. Al-Halhuli stressed the importance of placing the student at the center of the learning process as well as preparing the students to cope with the requirements of the local and global markets, in addition to enabling them to think creatively with the goal of contributing to the national economy by establishing their own startups. He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to his colleagues from the teaching faculty and teaching assistants for their effective contribution to the development of GJU’s academic performance by participating in training courses and benefiting from the courses and services provided by CeLAPI.

Furthermore, the Director of CeLAPI, Prof. Mohammad Daoud, stated that the center is currently developing electronic training courses that aim to train the faculty members on the use of state-of-the-art teaching methods and tools as well as applying high teaching standards. He stated that these electronic training courses are developed using advanced technologies in the fields of photography, video production, and E-learning content development. In addition, Prof. Daoud indicated that the center has completed the development of a full remote online course, called Leadership and Emotional Intelligence, and currently working on the development of another online course, called Soft Skills.

At the end of the ceremony, certificates were distributed to the participants.
