On May 7, 2024, we, the GLC lecturers, had the opportunity to participate in a workshop on the topic: Language Sensitive Technical Language Teaching, led by Mr. Jochen Balzer from PH Freiburg, Germany. Our guest shared his extensive experience and knowledge with us and offered a unique and in-depth perspective on topics of great interest and importance to us teachers. His engaging and interactive approach made the workshop not only educational but also stimulating.
The continuous alignment of the technical language curriculum with current trends and the demands of modern technical language teaching is of particular importance at the GLC. GJU students are currently taught in 12 subject-specific language courses in addition to general German lessons, which are geared towards the students' subjects of study.
We would like to thank Mr. Jochen Balzer for his valuable cooperation and his contribution to the success of this workshop. We would also like to thank our project office for their continued commitment to promoting learning and development opportunities for us lecturers of German as a foreign language. We look forward to future workshops and initiatives that will further enrich our academic experience.
