الدّكتور مهنّد عتمة أستاذ مُشارك في المحاسبة في الجامعة الألمانيّة الأردنيّة، ورئيس سابق لقسم المحاسبة في الجامعة الهاشميّة، حيث قام بتدريس دورات المحاسبة والتّدقيق في المرحلة الجامعيّة والدّراسات العُليا قبل دخوله المجال الأكاديمي، كان مدققًا في شركة aba & Co المعروفة الان بأسم شركةDeloitte 

كما عمل موظّفاً في دائرة ضريبة الدّخل يشغل حالياً منصب عضو مجلس إدارة الجمعيّة الأردنيّة للمحاسبينَ القانونيّينَ، إضافة إلى أنّه يشارك في اللجان الفنّيّة والتّدريبيّة في الجمعيّة.

حصل على الدكتوراة من جامعة نيوكاسل، وماجستير إدارة الأعمال من الجامعة الأردنية، وشهادة البكالوريوس من جامعة الكويت.

يُجري الدكتورعتمة أبحاثاً في المُحاسبة والمراجعة، وقد نشر مقالات في مجلات محاسبيّة مختلفة.
