The GJU President, Prof Natheer Abu.Obeid opened the Activity Hall for students at GJU, which was set up by the Deanship of Student Affairs, in order to encourage students to invest their leisure time in intellectual sports games such as table tennis, and chess.
During the opening, Prof. Abu.Obeid said that GJU is keen to provide students with an appropriate environment to develop not only their academic sides but also their physical and intellectual sides as well.
He also pointed out that GJU is always supportive of any student initiative, that comes with an added advantage of enhancing participation in social and voluntary work in cooperation with the Departments of Sports and Cultural Activity and the Career Guidance Office of the King Abdullah II Fund for Development.
Prof.Abu.Obeid said the university would work during the next two years to create a multi-purpose sports complex to serve all types of games and meet the aspirations of students.
For his part, Dr. Yousef Al-Abdallat, the Dean of Student Affairs , emphasized that the Deanship is about to organize a wide range of activities that will develop student talents and provide them with the necessary skills.
He also called on the students to communicate with the deanship and to take an advantage of the offered programs.
