Amman- 16 March, 2014 

A delegation from Magdeburg University for Applied Sciences visited the German Jordanian University on Thursday 13th March, 2014. The purpose of the visit was to explore new cooperation in possibilities in the educational system and in the cultural exchange program for students, academic and administrative staff at GJU in particular and in Jordan in general.  

 

During a visit, the delegation met the GJU President Prof. Natheer Abu Obeid, the Vice President of GJU, Prof. Manar Fayyad , the Vice President for International Affairs , Prof. Anton Mangstl, as well as some Directors , Deans , Professors and some graduate students of GJU.  

Prof. Abu Obeid, emphasized that GJU represents a remarkable model of German-Jordanian partnership; and assured that this visit is a precious opportunity to strengthen the concept of intercultural exchange that is considered one of GJU’s core principles.

 

He also added that the university is aiming to broaden the range of its network with the world, in particular with Germany, in order to promote a global and intercultural experience.

 

Prof. Anton Mangstl, said that GJU already has a very successful and strong relationship with German Industrial companies and organizations and there are hopes to open new opportunities for students in these fields.    

 

For her part, Dr. Dorothea, Director of the International Office, gave a presentation about GJU discussing the University’s establishment, vision and mission, in addition to facts and statistics about GJU students, incomers, outgoing students and student life at GJU.

 

From their side, the delegation praised the GJU scientific and academic levels that made it unique and distinguished all over the world.  They also, thanked GJU for hosting them, wishing it further and continued success.

The delegation had a tour through the Labs of Energy, Water, Industrial and Pharmaceutical Engineering, in addition to a special tour through the Darat Othman Bdeir, down town of Amman, as well as a visit to Petra.
