The International Office at the German Jordanian University (GJU) organized an introductory meeting for the incoming exchange students for the second semester on Tuesday 25th Feb, 2014.

 

The meeting aimed at introducing the incoming students to the GJU environment, and informing them of the correct procedures to follow during their period of study.

 

Prof. Mangstl welcomed the new German students, and emphasized that GJU is keen to have a strong partnership with Germany. He also added that GJU is an applied sciences university that follows an experimental teaching approach.  

 

Dr. Yousef Abdalat, Dean of Student Affairs, greeted the new German students, and called on them to get to know the Jordanian culture and lifestyle.

 

For his part, Prof. Thomas Weber, Lecturer at DAAD and University of Jordan, gave a detailed presentation about Historic Sites in Jordan, mentioning the most magnificent locations such as, Petra, Aqaba, Um Qais, the Nebo Mountain and many others. 

 

This helped the new students to get to know more about Jordan, its culture, tourism, and the most spectacular historical sites.   

 

Dr. Dorothea Jecht, the Director of the International Office, warmly welcomed the new German students, and gave a brief about GJU, its schools, features, activities and programs. She also pointed out that the numbers of German students coming to GJU are growing significantly.
